Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity provides specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children. There are currently over 120 Roald Dahl Nurses caring for over 33,000 seriously ill children across the UK.
For RDMCC’s campaign, Tami was paired together with Rosie, a young girl living with a chronic disease that she will have to manage for the rest of her life. Tami worked closely with Rosie to establish an understanding of what life was like as a chronically ill young person on the edge of teen-hood, including her likes, dislikes, insecurities and everyday disease management. Using this knowledge, Tami and Rosie worked with a production designer to create a “Rosie in Wonderland” dream world, and a writer and music composer to create the voiceover which poetically expresses the the changes happening to her, and how her Roald Dahl nurse, family and pet dog help her navigate this strange new reality.
